As the weather warms, the twitterverse, the blogosphere -- the entire online community -- seem to be ready for a Green Hour. During the last week, health and environmental blogs and websites have heralded the importance of outdoor time -- and citing Green Hour as a resource.
Here are some of our favorites:
Mother Nature Network is an environmental news and information website tailored not for experts and scientists, but for "the regular person who wants information written and created in a way that everyone can understand …"
There, Jenn Savedge blogs about raising eco-friendly kids, always acknowledging the reality of many parents' lives -- time is always at a premium.
Experience Life Magazine is a health site that does a nice job of discussing well-being holistically, and overcoming obstacles to living a healthy life. In an article about the importance of outdoor time, the author really focused on how to break down the barriers to getting outside every day.
Earth Promise is an online community that provides a way for people to make, track and keep promises about actions that will benefit the environment. They see making time for a Green Hour as a wonderful promise to make, not just to the earth, but to our children.
These sites, and many others, are helping us capture spring fever online -- hopefully convincing people to unplug and go outside.
Anne Keisman is the online media coordinator for Green Hour. Follow her as @GreenHour on Twitter.
